Every Cunmi generator set leaves the factory load-tested and is covered by the standard warranty described below. The quotation and contract agreed for your project state the warranty terms that apply to that sale; where they differ from this page, those documents prevail.
1. Warranty at a glance
- Complete generator set: 12 months or 1,000 running hours from commissioning, whichever occurs first.
- Outer limit: in any event no more than 18 months from the date of shipment (bill of lading date), so equipment commissioned late is still covered.
- Engine and alternator: where the component manufacturer offers its own warranty on the fitted engine, alternator or controller, we register and administer that claim on your behalf — several major engine platforms carry OEM coverage beyond the 12-month base term.
- Response: a technical response within one business day of a reported fault, and spare-parts support for at least ten years after a model leaves production.
2. What the warranty covers
The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that appear during normal operation and correct maintenance. If a covered component fails, we supply replacement parts free of charge and, where the fault cannot be resolved by remote diagnosis, arrange the repair. labour guidance and technical documentation are provided throughout the claim.
For projects commissioned by our engineers or by a Cunmi-supervised partner, the commissioning report records the start date and running hours that anchor the warranty period.
3. What is not covered
- Normal consumables and service items: engine oil, fuel, coolant, filters, belts, batteries and anodes.
- Damage caused by operation outside the rating, ambient conditions or duty class stated in the data sheet (for example sustained overload beyond ISO 8528-1 limits).
- Improper installation, incorrect fuel or lubricant, or maintenance not performed to the intervals in the operation manual.
- Repairs or modifications carried out by third parties without our prior written approval, or the fitting of non-genuine parts.
- Damage from events outside normal operation: flood, fire, lightning, salt-spray corrosion beyond the specified protection class, rodent damage or transport damage occurring after delivery has been accepted.
4. How to make a claim
- Contact us with the generator serial number, operating hours, site conditions and a description of the fault — ideally with photos or a short video.
- Our engineers respond within one business day with remote diagnosis guidance.
- If remote steps do not resolve the fault, we authorise the repair, ship replacement parts and supply step-by-step fitting instructions.
- For major component failures on engines or alternators, we lodge and manage the OEM claim with the component manufacturer for you.
Claims should be raised within 14 days of the fault appearing, and within the warranty period itself.
5. Keeping the warranty valid
The warranty assumes the set is commissioned and operated per the manuals supplied: commissioning or inspection on arrival, maintenance at the stated running-hour intervals with records kept, genuine or approved filters and fluids, and operation within the rated load and environment. A simple service log is sufficient; we do not require servicing to be performed by our own engineers.
6. Spare parts and lifetime support
We support every set we build with spare parts for at least ten years after the model leaves production, and filters, belts and other service items are specified in each data sheet so your team can plan stock. The spare parts page lists the most commonly ordered items; anything not listed can be quoted against the engine serial number.
