Both 50 Hz and 60 Hz builds are listed. Model codes carry the standby rating and, where two builds share a rating, a trailing letter.

Scania ratings are certified to ISO 8528 and the engines carry a common-rail fuel system that holds output well in heat. Expect about 1–2 % derate per 5 °C above 40 °C, and confirm the radiator package for anything above 45 °C.

Sizing a Scania set?

Ask for the wet weight as well as the kVA. Scania sets are light for their rating, which matters when the unit has to be lifted onto a trailer or a roof, and we quote the lifting points accordingly.

Configuration Options

Compact sets, compact packages

A Scania block is short and narrow, so the enclosure can be smaller than the rating suggests.

Scania engines are compact enough that a 500 kVA set still fits a single-skin canopy without a walk-in door, which is unusual at that rating. We build most Scania units as silent canopies for rental fleets and construction sites, and as open skids where they will sit inside a purpose-built plant room. Container builds are rare and only make sense for multi-set installations.

Cross Reference

Compare other engine brands

If you need more than 800 kVA from a single block, the FPT Cursor 13 or a Cummins QSZ13 gives the next step up in the same compact format.

Already running a Scania set?

Scania injectors, common-rail pumps, EGR valves and the EMS control units are all available, and the engine's truck lineage keeps consumables cheap.

Questions

Scania sets, answered plainly

The three things buyers ask us most about this engine platform.

The base block is shared, but generator builds use a fixed-speed governor, a different cooling package and a generator-optimised fuel map. The service economics are similar.

Roughly 275 to 800 kVA at 50 Hz with DC09, DC13 and DC16 engines. Above 800 kVA you would move to a different platform.

Up to B20 with the standard fuel system, and higher blends with the factory biodiesel package. Ask us for the specification before you commit to a fuel supply contract.
